AMA to organise worship concert dubbed “Accra Worships” on Dec 18

17.Dec.2025

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) will hold its annual thanksgiving service and worship concert dubbed “Accra Worships” on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the forecourt of the Accra City Hall, to bring residents and stakeholders together for a united time of worship for the peace, progress and development of the capital, as the city prepares for the Christmas season.

The all-white worship concert, under the theme "Counting our blessings in worship", aimed at rallying the people of Accra in gratitude, reflection, and intercession for the metropolis and the nation.

The Mayor of Accra, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, said the programme would start at 11 am and provide an opportunity for the city to “come together as one people” to worship and commit Accra’s future into God’s hands through prayer.

He said the Assembly considered the gathering an avenue to strengthen hope and unity among residents as the metropolis worked to address urban challenges and deepen civic responsibility.

He said the Assembly believed that beyond physical development, the metropolis also needed unity, discipline and a shared sense of purpose, adding that the worship concert would create a moment for residents and staff to seek peace and prosperity for the city and reinforce values that support good neighbourliness and social cohesion.

The Mayor appealed to faith leaders, youth groups, traders, workers and families across the metropolis to attend and participate fully, stressing that the gathering was open to all residents who wished to pray for a safer, cleaner and more resilient Accra.

He urged residents to use the season to show compassion and responsibility, noting that collective commitment to peace and proper conduct was essential to sustaining progress and protecting lives and property, particularly in busy commercial and social spaces across the metropolis.
